FINS AND FAMILY FISHING OFFSHORE FISHING CHARTERS

Our family friendly State Offshore Fishing Charters feature a combination of trolling and bottom fishing within nine nautical miles of the beach. Both state and federal offshore fishing charters feature trolling and bottom fishing options and focus on fishing submerged reefs, wrecks, natural bottom, and natural gas platforms.
SPRING OFFSHORE FISHING
Spring offshore fishing can be very rewarding. Awesome saltwater species such as Gray Triggerfish and Red Snapper bite well in March and April. While these species are typically not legal for harvest in the spring of most years, the are very fun to catch and release. If keeping a few fish for dinner is part of your group's goal then we would suggest we pursue the small but tasty Vermillion or Beeliner Snapper. Found mostly in Federal waters, Vermillion Snapper are among the most tasty fish in the gulf. Spring also begins the return of our warm water Migratory Pelagic species such as Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel, and the elusive Cobia. Mackerel are often caught trolling, casting jigs, and free lining live shrimp. Cobia fishing often requires a bit of patience and luck but if you are fortunate enough to catch one you will surely agree it is worth the lengthy pursuit.
SUMMER OFFSHORE FISHING
Summer marks the beginning of our best fishing season of the year. It also ushers in the season for the most popular fish along the northern Gulf of Mexico. Both state and Alabama and Florida Red Snapper seasons traditionally open for harvest in early June. Florida Red Snapper Season is often open seven days a week while state of Alabama waters are most commonly only open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. While most of our short offshore fishing charters focus primarily on Red Snapper, we do frequently catch other amazing offshore fish on occasion such as Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel, Triggerfish, Vermillion Snapper, Grouper, Cobia, Amberjack, Jack Crevalle, Bonita, and an occasional shark!

FALL OFFSHORE FISHING
Fall fishing offshore in both state and federal waters is traditionally an extension of the bite from summer. And while some species like the Red Snapper typically are no longer available for harvest, we still catch lots of fish and have a few good harvest options. State of Alabama offshore fishing charters usually feature Spanish Mackerel and King Mackerel for harvest while most reef fish are our of season or are undersized therefore we will still catch, appreciate, photograph, and release.

WINTER OFFSHORE FISHING
Winter offshore fishing charters can be red hot! Catch and release species such as Red Snapper, Amberjack, and Triggerfish come closer to shore in the winter making them a bit easier to catch on offshore charters. Fish that we can occasionally keep in the winter such as Vermillion Snapper also venture closer to shore and can sometimes be caught in both Alabama and Florida waters. We do not typically troll much in the winter and instead we focus more on bottom fishing, jigging spoons, chunking, chumming, and flat lining with baits such as squid and cigar minnows. Winter offshore fishing charters generally offer the most fishing time of any season due to shorter rides to the fish in the winter.
